Martine holds a Diploma of Primary Teaching & Graduate Diploma of Early Childhood Teaching and has more than 10 years working with 3 and 4 year children.
Her teaching career began in Sydney working in a long day care setting. In 2010 she moved back to her grass roots of Melbourne (Brighton), and commenced working at Brighton Baptist Kindergarten.
Martine has a keen interest to see children’s’ confidence and happiness, their abilities and love of learning flourish from their kindergarten experience. Martine holds a strong belief that children learn from exposure to a variety of stimuli and experiences and she loves dramatisation and storytelling.
Karen joined our team in 2013 after completing her Certificate III in Children’s Services. Karen has an infectious personality and is best described as being full of life and having fun. She is very creative and enjoys helping children to create and building new things using their imaginations using various materials.
Karen has 2 children of her own and often draws her life experience as a mother to guide her teachings at kindergarten. Karen is passionate about early childhood and we are delighted to have her as part of the team.
Alyce holds a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education from Monash University and recently joined the team at Brighton Baptsist Kindergarten. She believes her role as the teacher is to create an environment where all children feel safe and happy. She enjoys using music and movement in her program as a way of building and promoting confidence in children while creating a sense of belonging to the group. One of her favourite educational quotes that she aims to base her program around is ‘Tell me and I’ll forget. Teach me and I’ll remember. Involve me and I will learn.’
Kate joined our team at Brighton Baptist Kindergarten at the beginning of 2013. She adores working with children and believes that kindergarten should be a fun, engaging experience where children have the opportunity to explore, socialise and learn about themselves and others.
She has a particular interest in literature in early childhood and loves reading and discovering books with the children.Kate has two young children and together with her husband, loves camping with family and friends.
Maria Carpino joins Brighton Baptist Kindergarten in 2013 from her previous kindergartens where she has worked for more than 4 years. Maria worked for Bruthen Street Kindergarten and Livingston Kindergarten as their relief teacher and assistant before joing us and brings a wealth of professional and personal family experience to our kindergarten.
Maria has a gentle caring approach to 3YO kindergarten and beleives that helps her child to feel secure and engage in the program. She is looks forward to meeting all her new 3YO children and their families as they begin an exciting new stage in their lives.
Heather completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services in 2012 and works in both groups delivering the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP) to help develop gross motor skills and in the wombat group as the lunch reliever.
Heather is a professional tennis coach and loves playing ball games and setting up obstacle course for the children to enjoy each week. She focuses on developing the children’s gross and fine motor skills by creating structure active play activities for all children to participate in. Heather is a very experienced educator and works at both St Mary’s Kindergarten and Brighton Baptist Kindergarten.
